Rapp Racing 11r

So far the 2010 racing season has been full of excitement, strong runs, anda little bad luck.

Opening night at Sharon Speedway was a tough night. After pulling a bad pill for the heat race, Brad fought a bad one lane track starting last and finishing last. The team made some changes to the car for the A-Main. Brad Started 22nd in the feature and battled to a 9th place finish.

Next was opening night at Tri-City Speedway. Again the team fought a bad pill draw for the heat race starting 7th and finishing 4th. The invert put Brad starting 8th fir the feature. Brad drove an exellent race and brought home a 4th place finish.

The second weekend out was started back at Sharon Speedway. Once again the heat proved to be tough as there was no passing, Brad started 9th and finished 5th. Then came the feature. The invert put Brad starting 8th. Brad put on quite a show passing 4 cars on the 1st lap. brad took full advantage of the restarts, working his way into 3rd. With 1 lap to go Brad edged by the 2nd place car and was gaining on the leader and ran out of time bringing home a strong 2nd place finish.

The following night we were back at Tri-City Speedway. brad started 3rd in the heat race and finished 2nd. the invert cam to Brad's favor, starting him out side the front row. Brad brought home a career best finish at Tri-City, finishing 3rd.

The first BRP Modified Tour Series race was held at Lernville Speedway. Brad got a good starting postion for the heat race, starting 2nd. Brad went on to win the heat by a half a lap. Brad started 4th in the feature and despite fighting major handling issues on the very tacky racing surfacehe finished 5th.

The same weekened the team was back to Tri-City Speedway. Brad started 7th in the heat and finished 5th. Come feature time the track had started to slick off. The crew made several changes to the car. Brad started 9th and battled into the top 5. On a restart Brad tangled with another car bending a front shock. This made for a poor handling car resulting in an 8th place finish.

The 2nd BRP Mod Tour Series of the season was held at Pittsburgh Motor Speedway. Brad started 7th in the heat and finished 4th. Come feature time the track surface had really come to Brad's liking. Brad started 3rd and quickly raced into 2nd. He took the lead on lap 8 and started stretching his lead out to a half a straightaway. Brad held off the stout feild throughout several restarts. On lap 26 of the 30 lap event an oil line blew off forcing Brad to give up his first BRP tour feature win.

The Rapp Racing Team is confident that Brad will put his orange Troyer modified in victory lane soon.

2010 Just Around the Corner
March 3rd, 2010

The 2010 racing season is just around the corner, and 21 year old Brad Rapp is looking foward to this season more and any other. The reason the Clarion, Pa driver is so excited to see what the upcoming season brings is he will be starting the season with better equiptment that he has ever had the chance to compete with.

While competing most of the 2009 season with a borrowed car, the Rapp Racing team was building a completely brand new Troyer Max Flex car. The car debuted for the last 4 races of the season and is being gone through and preped for the upcoming season. Also a brand new Big Block Engine program is coming together quite well.

For 2010 Brad plans to compete full schedules at both Sharon Speedway as well as Tri-City Speedway. 2009 saw Brad finish 5th in points at both speedways. With the new equpitment Brad plans to take a more serious run at point championships at both speedways. The team also plnas to improve on their 2009  7th place point finsh with the traveling BRP modified tour. If a small block motor shall come available Rapp Racing would like to enter several special events at the end of the year, including Little Guy Nationals at Mercer Raceway Park, and specials at Little Valley Speedway
and Woodhull Raceway, both in NY state.

Brad has been busy stuyding at Slippery Rock University for a Degree in Exercise Science.

Please check back soon for more updates and informantion on the Rapp Racing Team.

09 SEASON COMES TO A CLOSE
October 29th, 2009

I would like to start off welcoming everyone to the new edition of rapp11r.com. With the new Troyer racecar its only fitting to have a fresh look for the site. All this hard work was once again done by Jeff Heotzler Jr.

The 2009 season was full of ups and downs. Rapp Racing and Hoffman Motorsports joined forces for the 2009 season until the team's 2009 Troyer Max Flex car was completed. Most of the season found Brad driving a 2004 Bud-Link Experimental Troyer. The team was up for the challenge and enjoyed working with new teammate Kevin Hoffman. Brad completed a full schedule at Tri-City Speedway, finishing 5th in points. The team also made a return to Sharon Speedway in 2009 as it found Brad getting his first Big Block feature win and also finishing 5th in points. Rapp Racing also followed the BRP Modified Tour, although despite terrible luck at most of the series races, Brad managed to finished 7th with the series.

The 2009 Troyer made its debut in October. The team only got to compete a few times with the new car before the close of the season. It seemed that with a little fine tunning the car will be very fast. Over the winter the team will now focus on a new engine program for next season.

Rapp Racing would like to thank Auto & Truck Specialties, Dave's Tilt Bed and Storage, M-Fab Inc., Riverhill Battery House, Vinyl Graphics Unlimited and S&W Auto Body. A special thanks to Mark Rossey, Don Smith, Kevin Kiser and especially our very supportive family.
